Curriculum Content

The ConfidentSpeaker curriculum aims to provide students with the tools and techniques required to become confident speakers of English. While spoken skills are the main focal point, vocabulary building, comprehension skills and grammar are also taught in order to facilitate more successful communication skills.

Speaking is at the heart of becoming confident speakers of English. Students have to respond throughout the English course through two main methods: Live teacher calls and Evaluations submitted via the app. Students are given sample situations to respond to, asked their opinions and given certain tasks where mimicry is encouraged, in order to build confidence and clarity. These tasks are individually assessed by a panel of expert teachers on accuracy of phrases used, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. Live one-on-one calls with teachers take place once a month where students must converse on a variety of topics. The expected outcomes include being able to think on the spot, and respond accurately to the situation.

Vocabulary required for certain contexts are taught to students in order to aid their ability to converse on a variety of topics with ease.

Comprehension  skills are  an important aspect of speaking. Students are exposed to a variety of comprehension activities that increase their ability to understand and respond to situations accurately.

Grammar is often an area that confuses students who are learning English. We teach students sufficient grammar to be able to construct accurate, meaningful sentences without much hassle.
